BUYER BEWARE: Dotaus.Com Is Not Committed To Customer Service on eBay Sales

Dotaus.com Poor Customer Service

This is a complaint about Dotaus.com customer service through eBay. However, I need to make it very clear that I made a mistake and purchased the wrong item; so I must take some blame.

 

NOTWITHSTANDING, is very clear to me that Dotaus.com is "all about the sale", and not about the customer’s welfare.

 

I purchased an external hard drive backup solution, I thought I was purchasing a thunderbolt compatible unit, but it was only USB. The thunderbolt version is about $100 more, so I offered to pay for postage to return the unused item, pay extra for the upgrade, and pay for the postage of the upgraded version.

 

When I made this request, Dotaus.com provide a very passive response the first time:

Please read our policy,.

Change of Mind Policy:

 

Please choose cafefully(sic) as refunds are not normally provided where you have simply changed your mind, made a wrong selection or simply found the goods cheaper elsewhere. We recommend you carefully preview any orders before adding them to your shopping cart and proceeding with your order.

I then responded as follows:

 

Hello,

 

I read your change of mind policy and states as follows:

 

"Change of Mind Policy:

Please choose cafefully(sic) as refunds are not normally provided where you have simply changed your mind, made a wrong selection or simply found the goods cheaper elsewhere. We recommend you carefully preview any orders before adding them to your shopping cart and proceeding with your order."

 

I'm relieved to see that although refunds are "not normally" given, that you do make exceptions, presumably reasonable cause. My case is not normal so I look forward to continuing our mutually beneficial customer seller relationship.

 

But to avoid ambiguity by requesting that the following happens:

 

I return the unit that I purchased and pay for shipping


I pay an additional amount to upgrade to the thunderbolt equivalent of the 8TB 2Big


I also pay the shipping costs for the new unit to be sent to me

 

Please advise how I would go about making this so quickly?
